Bibliographical Note:
Ingrid Shutz Polonius grew up in a Catholic family in Kassel, Germany during World War II. Her parents did not support the Nazi regime but were very careful not to voice their views in front of their children. Often children would innocently repeat their parents comments and there would be serious consequences. Kassel was an industrial power and was frequently bombed by the Allies. In this clip Ingrid remembers what it was like to experience war as a child.
